Obama and the Mind

If you can see it in your mind you can hold it in your hand. Obama is just another visible example of somebody who held on to a vision and never let any obstacle deter him from getting to where he wanted to go. Its not only about hope but for me especially it is about us in the so called under-developed world. I would like to call us emerging economies.

What I see in Obama is somebody who has shown us that if you really really want to achieve something, and you are absolutely clear about it and you take the appropriate actions, nothing in this world can stop you and everything is possible. This is something that is going to make a difference. We are going to see, especially among black people, a shift in mindset. When Roger Banister broke the record for the four minute mile, he ran that mile under four minutes. Before that it was considered to be totally impossible and nobody thought it would ever be achieved. After he broke it, that same month, thirty seven other people broke it and that same year so many others went on to break it (about 300 or more) and now everybody breaks that 4 minute miles, well nearly everybody if you consider yourself to be an athlete. The only reason it happened was because somebody else did it. That is why I look at Obama and I realize that because he has done it, he has more or less shifted the thought process for every person on the universe, and we can now look at it and say if he can do it so can we too.

We are going to see a lot more people emerge, mark my words. Let's talk about this one year from now and all of a sudden you are going to wonder where all these people were all this time

coming soon..more on http://www.kenonu.com
