Are you a Victim or a Victor?

Development and Growth Blogs - BlogCatalog Blog Directory

Hello,

I haven't written anything in a while. I hope you enjoyed the post from Dov Baron. I enjoy what he writes. Recently I had a disagreement with a friend. I was trying to get my friend out of a victim mentality.I spoke about avoiding negativity, accepting responsibility, avoiding blame.

All this did not help for he was dead certain that none of it was his fault. He felt that other people should share the responsibility for his predicament. The argument was that they helped to cause it so they should pay for their "crimes". I hope he reads this blog.

Whenever anything happens to you, you have to learn to accept responsibility for yourself. Criticizing, complaining, condemning and being vindictive just makes matters worse. It puts you in the wrong vibration, making sure that you attract more of the same to you.

People do not like to hang around angry, bitter, complaining people. They want to hang around people who are happy, enthusiastic and know where they are going.

Everything is a fact.....the emotion that you attach to that fact is your choice.
No matter what the disaster is, you can choose to be happy or you can choose to be sad. Frustration and anxiety comes from not listening to ones soul.

What does the soul want? The soul wants peace, love and happiness. As a matter of fact the soul IS peace love and happiness.

When we move away from that we are not at ease. A body that is not at ease is a body with dis-ease! Get it?

In Max Ehrmanns Desiderata...it states:
"Avoid loud and aggressive persons, for they are vexations to the spirit"

You cannot force people to be your friends. You cannot force love, You cannot force anything. If you want friendship, be friendly. If you want love be loving. You have to be willing to give that which you seek to attain.

Forgive them. But first Forgive Yourself...."Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it".

That's how the Universe works.

I don't totally agree with everything. However, most of it could have been out of misunderstanding and hurt but never vindication.

One should be very careful with what they write. Misinterpretation can do more harm than good.

Hope you and your friend come to an agreement soon. It is without doubt that your friend will work on his shortfalls providing the friendship was a "genuine" one.

Good advice.
